Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache container hidden at that location. Union Public Library is so excited to introduce our very own cache, hidden at the end of a string of clues set up at the Main Library. If you are curious about Geocaching and would like to learn more, stop by!
The event, which took place on March 21, began with an introduction to geocaching, followed by a discussion and Q&A, and ended with an interactive demonstration. Learn how to enjoy this eco-friendly sport including suggested equipment, the web site, how to search for a cache and types of caches.
Come learn about the sport, meet other cachers, hear stories about favorite hides and teach someone else your tricks. This activity is ongoing and is open to the public to promote geocaching, so bring your GPS and help others find their FTF!
