Attendees are expected to be on time for all programs. A grace period of 10 minutes will be given to patrons attending a program. Admittance after this arrival time is at the discretion of the library staff.

Programs may be cancelled for a number of reasons, chiefly: severe weather, absence of the presenter, or low registration. Cancelled programs are not automatically rescheduled.

African Drum Circle with Mister Boom Boom

Celebrate Juneteenth and unleash the rhythm within you! Mister Boom Boom will teach us how to play a variety of West African hand drums, including the djembe, talking drum, and more. The program wraps up with an exhilarating dance and drum circle, where you get to showcase your newly acquired skills. No previous drumming experience required! This program takes place outdoors at the Vauxhall Branch Library and is suitable for all ages. In the event of rain, the program will be moved inside. Please register in advance so we can contact you in case of cancellation. Registration opens two weeks prior to the event. If you lead a community group or institution (including, but not limited to: scout troops, camps, after-school groups, daycare centers) and would like to take part in this program, please contact to discuss how UPL can best accommodate your needs.
