Alternate Channels: 60 Years of LGBTQ Images on TV

Attendees are expected to be on time for all programs. A grace period of 10 minutes will be given to patrons attending a program. Admittance after this arrival time is at the discretion of the library staff.

Programs may be cancelled for a number of reasons, chiefly: severe weather, absence of the presenter, or low registration. Cancelled programs are not automatically rescheduled.

We’ll use clips from U.S. television comedies and dramas to explore how popular culture reflected those changes, from the 1950s to our time. Presented by Steven Capsuto, author of Alternate Channels: Queer Images on 20th-Century TV .
